Osteopathy is a form of drug-free non-invasive manual medicine that focuses on total body health by treating and rebalancing the musculoskeletal framework, which includes the joints, muscles and spine. Its aim is to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems.

It is a holistic (whole body) approach to health care. Osteopaths do not simply concentrate on treating the problem area, but use physical therapy manual techniques to balance all the systems of the body, to provide overall good health and wellbeing.

Most people think of us as ‘back specialists’. Not surprising when more than 2.5 million people consult their GP’s for low back pain alone! Osteopaths treat many conditions, Osteopathic treatment does not target symptoms only but treats the parts of the body that have caused them. Whether it is an acute injury, chronic complaint, general aches and pains or rehabilitation. Examples of the many problems that osteopaths can help with include:

  • Back pain including lower back pain
  • Sciatica and ‘trapped nerves’
  • Muscle aches, strains and pulls
  • Arthritis
  • Hip and joint pains
  • Headache and migraine
  • Sports injury and rehabilitation
  • Limb problems including tennis and golfers elbow
  • Pregnancy related symptoms
  • Baby check up
  • ‘Growing pains’
  • Menopause symptoms
  • Sinus and dental problems
  • Whiplash
  • Work related injuries
  • Shoulder problems
  • Stress related conditions
